Class Debate(1)
Friday, October 24, 2008, 8:03 PM

yoyoyoyo.

lol, I haven't posted for awhile.
But there's nothing much to post anyway. Just that there's a debate today on whether "P6 PUPILS SHOULD NOT COME TO SCHOOL AFTER PSLE". It was pretty funny and heated both at the same time.
I'll personally prefer to be in the proposition team.

In the end, the opposition team sort of won but I don't agree with them.
At least most of them.
I'm not going to imply anything through here but I just wanna say my piece i'm thickskinned XD

OK, here goes. (I just simply copied it from my blog, btw, if you ever find the similarity)
OPPOSITION : Speaking about independence.
My views:
Oh please. I don't get SV's point. What do you mean by, "You think this is the 1980's?"
I mean, what has independence gotta do with the time, be it 1980's or 2008?
Well, you tell me. If you go to school, its the same old thing and its not as easy to gain independence when teachers order you around to do the right things and the canteen food is right at your doorstep.
Whereas when you're at home(or not in school), you have to do things based on what YOU think is right, and if its wrong, you'll learn the proper way through experience and that's independence.
You walk into the kitchen for lunch. You can't possibly eat biscuits for lunch can you? And as for instant noodles, its full of MSG, which you cant possibly eat everyday.
You gotta whip up your own meal of perhaps, porridge.

Since you had to study for PSLE, you can't possibly have time for all these.
But it's after PSLE, so why not just learn these basic stuff - independence. I can tell you, more then 50% of the class can't do that, even me, so what do you mean by we should have been independent already?

OPPOSITION : Addiction of computers.
My views:
So what? You can always get addicted easily. You tell me, does that 6hrs of school make a difference?
Yeah, I agree of course, you will play lesser of computer games when you're at school, but when you come back, you dump your bag and head straight to the computer, and that's addiction isn't it?
You say, too, that we may land up in unsuitable websites.
You go to school, come back, switch on the computer and you can still go to them, can't you?
This isn't a matter of whether you go to school or not.
Well, if you got the brains, obviously, you won't go into them. If not, does it really make a difference?
Sure, school teachers can warn you its dangerous and whatever.

But it still boils down to your choice doesn't it?

OPPOSITION : Electricity consumption.
My views:
Right, you can save electricity when you go to school 'cause at home, its all individual usage. But you tell me, is the usage of the electricity used wisely in the school?
I mean, majority of us just chat and play some games in class, apart from those who read books.

It's not really used wisely, is it? I personally feel using electricity and water wisely is more important then saving money. But of course, you may think otherwise.

OPPOSITION : Talking about friendship bonding.
My views:
You go to school, play some games and go back home. Alright, that's what you call bonding?
If we don't go to school, we can organise some outings together, maybe cycling.
That, we can not only go cycling together, bonding, but also burn fats(as you mentioned about walking to school, instead of wasting fuels).
Yes, you say we can first assemble in school and then go out. But doesn't that mean we have to assemble back in school and 1.00pm since its a normal school day?
Lets see, after all those transportation and organising, we're left with about 3hrs.And you tell me, is that enough?

Besides, we can't possibly go out every single day and this sort of bonding should have happened at least 2 yrs ago. How can we bond right now in a month's time and then separate so soon?
That would leave us becoming more sad, wouldn't it?

OMG, that was supeerrrrrrrrrrr long, and I even have some more S:
But I have said my piece and I don't know what you guys think about it.

Signing off, Sharnice (:
